The winter blues

Well the inevitable has happened and I have been hit with a winter cold. Apart from feeling sorry for myself and having no energy its not too bad and I honestly haven't moaned half as much as I could :)

With this said I have managed to make another minion for my friends daughter and a few flower brooches for the craft market in March. I do need to get a wriggle on with the items for the craft market though as it will come around ever so fast and I want to be prepared.

I am having a less busy week allowing for time to recover from the cold and to try and get some evenings in when I can get my wool and hooks out. Tonight will hopefully be productive as I have the evening to myself.
I think this calls for a bottle of wine, some good crocheting and possibly a little bit of Ryan Gosling on TV????

Even the thought puts me in a good place :)

Handmade Christmas 2012

I decided that Christmas presents for 2012 would be handmade. The comments I received afterwards were fantastic so I think this will be an on going theme!
The baby mobile is made from crochet stars (I will get the pattern on here shortly!)
The crocheted baby booties are a free pattern from the Making Spot - http://www.themakingspot.com/patterns?keys=gum+drop+booties
The knitted Meerkats were from a book - http://www.knittedmeerkats.co.uk/Knitted_Meerkats/Home.html

Productive snow days

As the snow is falling all over the UK I felt it was an excellent time to start this blog. I've been 'trapped' indoors most of the weekend and this has proven very productive on the crafting front.

I have finished 'Woolley the Spider' for a friends grandson's birthday present. The pattern was purchased via eBay (very cheap) and it was very easy to follow. After a while I started to wish spiders only had 6 legs but it was worth it in the end!

Also after watching 'Despicable Me' on DVD over the weekend I decided our house was in need of minions. Enter 'Splodge the Minion'! Completely crocheted (my first crocheted character!) and I will openly admit I have completely fallen in love with this little guy and the pattern. It was so easy!

I found the pattern on a fellow bloggers website - http://my-crocheted-world.blogspot.co.uk/ and the results, as I'm sure you will agree, are fantastic!

Hopefully the snow will keep falling so I have more snow days! Very productive use of time indeed!
